"The eighth and final day of the best-dressed tour saw the team hit the streets of the Toon. Known for its impressive art gallery and a penchant for swooping architecture, (not forgetting girls able to take on a blizzard in a bra and a belt) Newcastle surprised with its breadth of individual looks.

From a bow-tie sporting art lecturer to a menswear buyer who championed the deconstructed look, there was plenty for the team to work with – a relief, considering our fleeting timescale. Thanks to a glut of independent men’s boutiques – including Cruise and End Hunting Co – selling innovative garments from a range of designers, Newcastle University’s infamous pink shirt brigade gained no ground."
